Annnnnd people against giving Plan B to 11 year old girls support 11 year old girls being pregnant and raising children.
If an 11 year old comes to someone asking for Plan B, they’ve already had sex. So would “It’s Pretty Ugly” rather have pregnant 11 year olds (from rape or incest because if an 11 year old is having sex it’s most likely one of these)? Or do they think that available morning after pills make people ‘promiscuous’ and drives younger and younger people to have sex.
The thing that’s “Pretty Ugly” about an 11 year old having to ask for Plan B is that she is in that position in the first place. If an 11 year old is facing pregnancy she has been abused and a crime has been committed.
If an 11 year old is brave enough to seek help immediately after being abused and know that Plan B is the right option, I applaud her. She is far braver than I could ever be. I also applaud Planned Parenthood for realizing that horrid things happen in this world that lead to adolescents facing pregnancy and for standing up and providing adolescents with the health care and counselling (yes, that do that or refer patients to counselors, CPS, etc.) that they desperately need.
There’s a saying “Don’t Shot the Messenger.” In this instance I will say “Don’t Defame the Health Care Provider.” They only want to help young girls who have found themselves (do to no fault of their own) in a horrible circumstance. Stopping Planned Parenthood from providing young girls with Plan B will not prevent teen (or adolescent) pregnancy. In fact (much like banning birth control) it would Increase pregnancy among underage girls.I have no Idea how the idea of “denying access to such preventative will lead to less of the very thing it wants to prevent” makes any sense in anyone’s mind. It is the very opposite of logic.Want to help abused girls? Go after Rapists and Abusers. They are the one’s at fault for the adolescent becoming pregnant. Not the Health Care Provider who only wishes to help people in need.

This may sound selfish and entitled, but here’s my problem: I really get irritated when older people get super offended by today’s vernacular. Saying something like “I’m going to throw some Jesus up in this!” is positive to people my age, but saying to someone over thirty and you pretty much just summoned the Devil.
Like, really, what is up with that. Can’t I just speak the way I speak without offending anyone. If I truly do offend someone I will apologize.
